For more than 45 years, Hospice of the Chesapeake has supported individuals and families navigating serious illness and grief with expert care and heartfelt compassion.
As Maryland's largest independent, nonprofit community hospice, the organization serves hundreds of people each month in Prince George's County. Its team meets patients and families wherever they are, including private residences, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and hospitals.
The organization's services extend beyond traditional hospice care to help patients, caregivers, children, veterans, and families receive comfort, guidance, and support throughout some of life's most difficult moments.

A Personal Committment to Community
Long Legacy Collective believes community impact begins with showing up, using our relationships with purpose, and helping important work reach the people who can support it.
Founder and Principal Advisor, Ciara Long, serves on the 2026 Sip & Savor event committee, supporting fundraising and sponsorship outreach for Hospice of Chesapeake's work in Prince George's County.
This work is personal for Ciara. Hospice of the Chesapeake cared for her grandfather and supported her family during the final chapter of his life. That experience shaped her understanding of what compassionate end-of-life care means, not only for the patient, but for the entire family.
Serving on the Sip & Savor committee gives her an opportunity to honor her grandfather's memory while helping more Prince George's County families become aware of the care and support available to them.
Many important services provided by Hospice of the Chesapeake are not covered by insurance. Community and sponsor support helps make programs such as grief counseling, caregiver support, healing arts therapies, veteran honors, and community outreach possible.
